Jamie has been connected with the movement of the body her entire life, growing up as a dancer and involving herself with pilates. She became interested in yoga while living in a remote part of the Sierra Nevadas in California, where a life with much free time allowed her to teach herself Ashtanga and Iyengar yoga through books.
She has been a teacher of many of her passions for quite some time, so teaching yoga, combining her love for teaching and love for yoga, seemed only natural. She has taken teacher trainings with David Swenson,Rod Stryker and Yoga Alliance accredited training at Asheville Yoga Center. She has attended workshops with yogis including Shiva Rea, Baron Baptiste, Rodney Yee, Betsey Downing and others. She continues to be a student of yoga while her passion for teaching inspires her to design creative classes and sequences. She feels most connected with flow sequences due to optimal connection with the body and breath and the capability of drawing the senses inward, which she feels flow yoga creates. In addition, she teaches partner yoga with the philosophy of helping people to better connect with themselves while learning to better connect with others.
She is available for workshops, group classes, private and semi-private lessons.
