After a melange of careers, most recently in the tech industry, Karen realized that the phrase "work to live" is commonly antithetical to the phrase "life's work." Happily, she fell into her life's work of sharing the personal peace she has found in yoga with others. Her classes interweave yogic poses with physical adjustments, energy centers, breathwork, and thematic application of yogic philosophy. Additionally, as a lifelong musician, she has experienced and enjoys sharing the physical and energetic potency of chanting and mantra as a tool for meditation. She has been practicing yoga since 1996. She received her certification to teach at Samadhi Yoga in Seattle, a Yoga Alliance-Certified Teacher Training School, and teaches at various locales throughout the area. Karen holds a B.A. in Geological Sciences from Princeton University, and works as a Systems Analyst at Microsoft.
Karen has recently started Yoga Team, a company whose primary mission is to deliver quality yoga instruction to offices in the Seattle Metro Area. Check out www.yogateam.net for full details.
Yoga Team will be presenting its first retreat this spring! Mark March 17-26 2005 on your calendars and save it for a fabulous retreat in the Philippines, Karen's native country! Stay tuned for details.
